FTC to Host Forum on September 8 on Commercial Surveillance and Lax Data Security Practices

WHAT: The Federal Trade Commission is hosting a public forum regarding its Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) on commercial surveillance and data security practices that harm consumers and competition.
WHEN: Thursday, September 8, 2022, 2 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. ET
WHERE: The event will be held online. A link to view the forum will be posted to ftc.gov the day of the event and on the event page.
WHO: The event will feature remarks by FTC Chair Lina M. Khan, Commissioners Rebecca Kelly Slaughter and Alvaro Bedoya, as well as a staff presentation, two panel discussions, and comments from the public.
